The last time we were in Darjeeling, it rained non-stop. We were staying over at some cousins house, where i found this discarded little paper. And also some water colours. Painted this and called it "It Alaways Rains in Darjeeling".
A painting that I dont own any more. A painting that i will miss like so many others. I dont even have a proper record of it. Just this one taken on my mobile phone.
Geet Govinda, Love in Colours acrylic on canvas
Roads getting bigger, houses torn down. People cry, People lament, People protest. A temple in Dillibazar loses half its wall. The God inside sits still.

I have been painting in the brightest of colours. Red, blue, mauve. This time spring has hit me hard. I have been dazzled. Been painting like insane. Used up all my stock of canvas. Must have visited over eight times to the art store to get paint. My paintings are thick impasto. All juicy. Nothing overburdened with forced intellect. Pure colours and pure joy. I now know why the Impressionists were mad with happiness.
